Position Summary:

• Assist staff in adapting instruction to meet student needs.
• Guide best practices in accessibility and communication approaches.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, service providers, and families.
• Support student academic progress, language acquisition, and development of self-advocacy skills.
• Promote an inclusive learning environment where DHH students feel supported, empowered, and acknowledged.
• Provide individualized instruction and communication support using ASL, assistive listening tools, and personalized learning strategies.

Requirements Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related discipline, as well as a current Georgia Professional Educator License (PEL) with a DHH endorsement. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities are required, and proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is a significant advantage. The strongest applicants will have direct experience working with deaf or hard of hearing students in school settings, along with a thorough understanding of IEP procedures and the implementation of individualized accommodations that support student access and success in the classroom.
