A contract opportunity awaits an experienced Teacher for the Visually Impaired to work onsite at a district near Fort Benning, GA for the academic year. This role begins August 3rd, 2026 and continues through May 21st, 2027, with the possibility of additional pre- or post-planning days. Your expertise will support students with visual impairments and empower them to thrive in an inclusive educational setting. The district values collaborative input and will work with you to match your skills with the right age group and needs within the student population.
KeyQualifications:
- Valid Georgia Educator Certification specific for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs)
- Experience in providing instructional and accessibility support to students with visual impairments
- Comfortable maintaining up-to-date and meticulous daily service logs
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility for potential full-time (~37.5 hours/week) or part-time scheduling, depending on caseload
- Commitment to onsite work (remote/VOCO candidates will not be considered)
- Deliver tailored instruction to students with visual impairments in accordance with individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assess student needs, adapt curriculum materials, and recommend assistive technology as appropriate
- Collaborate with general education staff, families, and support services to ensure accessible learning environments
- Document all services thoroughly using the districts required logging system
