Student Pastor

First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst, Georgia

First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst is seeking a full-time Student Pastor to lead and serve our student ministry from 6th grade through college.

We are looking for someone who has a genuine heart for students, a passion for seeing young people grow in their relationship with Jesus, and a desire to become a meaningful part the life of our church and community.

The Student Pastor will provide leadership, vision, and day-to-day oversight for all areas of student ministry. This includes creating opportunities for students to know Christ, grow in their faith, build relationships, and serve others.

• Leading and overseeing the student ministry for students in 6th grade through college
• Teaching and leading Sunday morning student Sunday School
• Planning and leading Wednesday night student ministries
• Building relationships with students and their families
• Recruiting, equpping, and working alongside adult volunteers
• Planning and coordinating student events, retreats, camps, mission opportunities, and other activities
• Developing a strong summer schedule and other opportunities throughout the year
• Working with parents to encourage and support the spiritual growth of their students
• Working alongside the pastor and church staff to help students become active participants in the life of the church
• Providing consistent leadership, communication, and organization for the student ministry

• Have a clear and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Agree with and support the beliefs and mission of First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst and BFM 2000
• Have a genuine love for teenagers and young adults
• Be a capable teacher and communicator of God's Word
• Be able to build relationships with students, parents, volunteers, and the congregation
• Be organized, dependable, and willing to take initiative
• Have a heart for discipleship and helping students grow beyond simply attending church
• Be willing to invest in the community and become part of the life of our church
• Previous experience in student ministry is preferred. Seminary or Bible college education is a plus, but we are primarily looking for someone who has a strong calling to student ministry and a desire to serve faithfully.

This is a full-time position, and compensation will be competitive and based on experience and qualifications.

We believe student ministry is an important part of the future of the church. Our desire is to have a Student Pastor who will not simply organize events, but will know our students, walk alongside them, teach them God's Word, and help them develop a faith that continues well beyond their students years.
