Overview
Prime Air is seeking a highly skilled Flight Monitor to join the team. The Flight Monitor will perform real-time monitoring of drone flights to ensure safety, compliance, and operational efficiency of the drone fleet.
Responsibilities- Continuously monitor the status of all active drone flights within the assigned region, using monitoring systems.
- Identify and respond to deviations from planned flight paths or operational parameters.
- Ensure all drone flights comply with regulatory requirements and company safety policies.
- Coordinate with relevant teams to implement immediate response strategies to mitigate risks and resolve situations.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on flight activities, incidents, and anomalies; provide feedback to support continuous operational improvement.
- Utilize strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with high attention to detail.
- Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills in a high-pressure environment.
- Adhere to FAA regulations and Prime Air directives and processes.
Physical requirements: The role may require lifting up to 50 lbs, standing/walking for shifts up to 12 hours, and frequent pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching. Ability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Travel up to 25% of the time.
Licenses and regulatory requirements: FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate; knowledge of weather patterns for flight operations; understanding and application of FAA regulations and aviation safety protocols; ability to decode METAR readings and interpret weather conditions affecting operations.
Basic Qualifications- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of weather patterns for flight operations
- Flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Can carry/lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach
- Travel up to 25% of the time
- Experience interpreting flight monitoring systems or similar technical platforms
- Experience with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations or similar technical platforms
- Demonstrated good attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts
- Understanding and application of FAA regulations and aviation policy and safety protocols
- Ability to decode METAR readings and interpret weather conditions that may affect operations
- Experience working with computer systems and troubleshooting
- Ability to work in varying noise levels and environments, including outdoor and refrigerated conditions
- Experience in aviation, drone operations, or real-time monitoring
- Experience with technical or engineering record-keeping methods and tools
- Excellent decision-making under pressure
- Experience with risk assessment and mitigation
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Compensation
:
The starting pay for this position includes base pay plus applicable shift differentials. Additional earnings may include overtime pay.
