Field Service Technician

Location: BWI Airport to Ashburn, VA area

Area of work: Able to drive within a 60 mile radius servicing sites.

Duration: 6‑month contract (with intent to hire)

Shift: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Expenses: Mileage provided while driving to work sites in the area. Mileage between sites is covered; home mileage not covered. One driver pays on days they go to sites other than the office address. On days with no drive to a site, the technician isn’t always required to come to the office address.

BAS experience preferred with a Degree. Open to junior candidates with a BA/BS in Engineering.

• Installation and Commissioning: Install and commission BAS systems, ensuring all components are correctly integrated and functioning.
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform regular maintenance and troubleshoot issues with BAS components.
• Software Management: Download, update, and verify the accuracy of software used in BAS systems.
• Calibration and Testing: Calibrate and test HVAC systems and controls to ensure optimal performance.
• Monitoring and Diagnostics: Monitor BAS components for efficiency and safety, and provide diagnostics and repairs as needed.
• Stay in compliance with company-required trainings.

• A minimum of 3‑6 years’ experience in BAS controls, HVAC controls, Controls Commissioning, PLC Programming.
• Proficiency in HVAC systems, electrical systems, and computer networking.
• Previous experience in BAS or related fields.
• Problem‑Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Communication: Good communication skills for coordinating with other technicians and stakeholders.

• Relevant certifications in HVAC, electrical systems, or BAS technologies.
• Tech school graduate or a 4‑yr degree in Mechanical/Electrical is top pick.

Expense reimbursement for mileage between sites, potential transition to permanent position based on performance.
