This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Peachtree City, Georgia with Cooper Lighting
, responsible for the overall, hands-on mechanical design of Cooper Lighting products and meeting the project schedule and budget.
- Work in conjunction with internal resources and remote engineering to create the overall project timeline, define deliverables, and guide the team to completion
- Coordinate with Marketing to ensure project specifications are clear, complete, achievable, and consistent with the voice of the customer
- Ensure design progression via CAD modeling reviews, thermal and mechanical analysis, drawing and model retention, testing plan creation, test review, and coordination with internal and third-party compliance
- Ensure project tooling budget and product cost requirements are met
- Coordinate with sourcing to identify vendors, obtain quotations, and ensure quality standards and deliverables
- 5% international travel and 5% domestic travel required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field and five (5) years of related experience
- Experience must include the following:
- 5 years of product design with lighting fixtures
- 5 years of experience with Solid Works 3-D modeling software
- 3 years of experience with Thermal and Structural simulations
- Experience must also include:
- SAP PLM
- Electrical and optical engineering principles and familiarity with design, manufacturing, and regulatory aspects of LED lighting systems for general lighting (UL, ES, etc.)
- Injection molded plastic, die cast, forging, sheet metal design, and related manufacturing methods
- 5% international travel and 5% domestic travel required
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship needs
Salary and BenefitsSalary range: $130,437 to $179,762
