Description

Winpak Films Inc. is seeking a Process Engineer to join our Operational Excellence team in Senoia, GA.

Reporting to the Operational Excellence Manager, the Process Engineer plays a key role in driving continuous improvement across our operations—enhancing quality, reducing waste, increasing output, and minimizing variability, all while supporting cost‑effective manufacturing at Winpak Films.

Key Responsibilities Process & Technical Expertise
  • Build and apply a working knowledge of polymer materials and processes, including extrusion, blown film, and double‑or triple‑bubble technologies
  • Develop an understanding of web handling processes and key process variables
  • Apply statistical and data‑driven methods to monitor, analyze, and improve process performance
  • Stay current on polymer processing and flexible packaging advancements through suppliers, OEMs, and industry events
  • Lead or support process improvement initiatives focused on productivity, waste reduction, quality, cost, and process capability
  • Establish, document, and maintain process data and standard operating conditions (SOCs) in partnership with production leaders
  • Collaborate with Project Engineering on equipment modifications, new processes, installations, and commissioning
  • Perform cost analysis, ROI evaluations, and support the capital approval process
Collaboration, Training & Operational Support
  • Partner with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams on troubleshooting, investigations, and improvement initiatives
  • Work with resin suppliers on new material qualifications and process troubleshooting
  • Develop and deliver process‑related training for operations teams
  • Support production operations as needed, including participation in on‑call rotation and other assigned duties
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, mechanical, or Polymer focus preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment; plastic processing and/or film extrusion experience preferred but not required.
  • Comfortable being on call to support start‑ups, shutdowns, and troubleshooting when needed.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to web handling and polymer processing (extrusion, blown film, double/triple bubble processes).
  • Prior experience in leading process improvement initiatives or preparing for a management career path.
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • 50% office / 50% manufacturing floor, including exposure to heights, noise, and temperature variations.
  • Regular walking, standing, stair climbing, and occasional lifting of 25–50 lbs.
