Purpose
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading plant maintenance and reliability excellence across highly automated, advanced manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for equipment uptime, asset reliability, and maintenance performance while leading a multidisciplinary technical team supporting high-pressure die casting, automation, machining, and digital manufacturing systems. The Maintenance Manager will drive world-class reliability practices, safety, continuous improvement, and integration of new technologies.

1. Maintenance & Reliability Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary maintenance organization (electrical, mechanical, controls, robotics).
Establish and sustain world-class reliability systems including TPM, RCM, and predictive maintenance.
Own plant uptime and maintenance performance metrics; develop and execute strategies to reduce unplanned downtime.
Drive a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement across the maintenance team.
KPIs:
• Equipment uptime
• OEE
• MTBF / MTTR
• Planned vs. unplanned maintenance ratio
2. Advanced Automation & Equipment
Oversee maintenance, reliability, and performance of advanced manufacturing systems, including:
• HPDC mega-casting machines (high-tonnage clamping systems)
• Fully automated robotic casting cells
• Automated CNC machining and finishing lines
• AGV / AMR material handling systems
• Vision systems and inline quality inspection technologies
• Passivation and chemical surface treatment lines
Ensure equipment availability, technical capability, and safe operation across all systems.
3. Industry 4.0 & Predictive Maintenance
Implement and scale predictive maintenance technologies (vibration analysis, thermography, condition monitoring, AI-based diagnostics).
Support digital manufacturing and Smart Factory initiatives aligned with Nemak's global strategy.
Leverage data analytics and CMMS/EAM systems to anticipate failures, optimize maintenance plans, and improve asset performance.

4. Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
Lead structured problem-solving activities including RCA, FMEA, 8D, and Kaizen.
Drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives within maintenance and reliability processes.
Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, and IT to improve throughput, process capability, and overall equipment effectiveness.
5. Safety, Environmental & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure full compliance with OSHA, environmental, and chemical handling regulations.
Lead safe maintenance practices in high-temperature casting, automation, and chemical processing environments.
Champion a zero-incident safety culture through training, audits, and visible leadership.
6. Integration & Transformation Leadership
Support the integration of systems, standards, and teams into target operating model.
Align local practices with global standards and best practices.
Support ramp-up, stabilization, and commissioning of new equipment and emerging technologies.
7. Budget & Asset Management
Develop and manage maintenance budgets, including operating expense and CAPEX planning.
Optimize spare parts strategies and lifecycle management of critical assets.
Build and maintain strong OEM and supplier partnerships to ensure technical support and long-term equipment performance.
