Job Description & How to Apply Below
The Nokia Nuremberg R&D team develops next-generation optical transport systems for metro and core networks. You will join the System Verification Test organization, supporting the quality assurance of transport products. This role involves close cooperation with various groups like Product Management, System Engineering, HW and SW development, and customer support globally.
Within our supportive and innovative agile work environment, you will find opportunities for individual growth and creativity. To deliver our optical products with expected functionality and high quality, a comprehensive system verification is conducted. With increasing product functionality, a highly automated test approach is crucial. Therefore, a significant part of this role involves learning and contributing to the development of AI-supported test automation for both target and simulation testing.
Alternatively, you may work within a scrum team, focusing on assisting with the bring-up of specific features for a release and supporting the associated test and automation tasks.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual eager to start their career in verification and contribute to achieving high-quality standards.
Are you passionate about learning to detect and solve problems? As part of our team, you will:
* Assist in reviewing system requirements and architecture.
* Support the definition of test strategies and test plans, and help specify required setups.
* Learn to develop SW using an object-oriented AI-assisted automation environment for efficient testing in simulation and on target.
* Help bring setups into operation and execute defined tests under guidance.
* Document product issues and support their resolution until final verification.
* Assist in managing test execution status and product quality within assigned areas.
* Contribute to the review of customer documentation.
* Support senior engineers in diagnosing HW and/or SW issues and contribute to recommended corrective actions for customer trouble tickets.
For this position, you should bring knowledge from your university education, ideally with some relevant internship experience or up to 1 year of professional experience. You have:
* Foundational object-oriented SW development skills, preferably in Python, in a Linux environment.
* An understanding of AI methodologies or a strong interest in applying them in an R&D environment.
* Good communication skills in English.
* A structured, motivated, and self-organized approach to learning and working.
* A cooperative and team-oriented working style with a willingness to take on responsibility.
It would be nice if you also had:
* Basic knowledge of Ethernet and Optical Transport Network (OTN) functionality or related concepts.
* German language skills or willingness to learn
Some of our benefits:
* Flexible and hybrid working schemes
* A minimum of 90 days of Maternity and Paternity Leave, with the option to return to work within a year following the birth or adoption of a child (based on eligibility)
* Life insurance to all employees to provide peace of mind and financial security
* Well-being programs to support your mental and physical health
* Opportunities to join and receive support from Nokia Employee Resource Groups (NERGs)
* Employee Growth Solutions to support your personalized career & skills development
* Diverse pool of Coaches & Mentors to whom you have easy access
* A learning environment which promotes personal growth and professional development - for your role and beyond
