Position Summary

The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing engineering and technical development projects from concept through implementation. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with operational and business objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities while driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, operations, quality, and leadership teams to develop project plans and define resource requirements, including labor, materials, equipment, timelines, and costs.

  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate materials, equipment, technologies, and processes to support project objectives.

  • Track project expenditures and compare actual costs against budgets and estimates, identifying opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency.

  • Partner with design and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and support successful project execution.

  • Analyze equipment, systems, processes, and workflows to identify opportunities for operational improvements, cost reduction, and productivity gains.

  • Prepare and present project status reports, including progress updates, budgets, timelines, and performance metrics.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Work closely with operations teams to identify and remove obstacles impacting project success.

  • Develop and implement process controls that support manufacturing capabilities, facility improvements, training initiatives, and equipment start-up activities.

  • Participate in knowledge-sharing and best-practice initiatives across multiple facilities and engineering teams.

  • Support capital improvement projects, process optimization efforts, and continuous improvement programs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in project engineering, manufacturing, industrial operations, process improvement, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering principles, and project management methodologies.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

  • Excellent budgeting, cost analysis, and resource planning skills.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related business software.

  • Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, or industrial environments is highly preferred.
