About the role

The Site Capital Lead serves as the site subject matter expert for capital portfolio management and project delivery. This role leads capital program and project activities within Site Engineering and ensures the Covington manufacturing facility has the right governance, planning, and delivery structure to support reliable, compliant, and robust operations.

Reporting to the Head of Site Engineering, you will be an integral member of the Site Engineering Leadership Team and will partner closely with operational leaders, site stakeholders, and above-site capital partners to align capital priorities with business needs. You will build and lead an efficient capital delivery organization focused on right-first-time execution, industry best practices, and timely, cost-effective delivery of fit-for-purpose assets.

You will also ensure the capital projects team has the technical, numerical, and organizational support needed to deliver a portfolio of projects that meet safety, functionality, capacity, capability, reliability, compliance, and business requirements.

  • Establish the capital project program and governance mechanisms that prioritize projects against strategic site and business goals.

  • Lead early-stage planning for potential capital projects, including feasibility and concept work, to clarify user, business, and functional requirements and develop robust business charters.

  • Create and align execution structures and delivery models for GMP and non-GMP capital projects based on project size, complexity, and business criticality.

  • Deploy capital project delivery best practices, including front-end loading, stage-gate reviews, value improvement practices, and practical risk mitigation to improve predictability and reduce schedule and cost overruns.

  • Coordinate planning, monitoring, reporting, and escalation for all site capital projects, including risk registers, mitigation plans, communications, and stakeholder updates.

  • Lead the preparation and review of capital appropriation requests before submission to the Head of Site Engineering and Site Leadership Team for approval.

  • Ensure site project managers are appropriately trained on GOPs, job aids, cost estimation, SPOT, and other required project execution tools and processes.

  • Develop and coach the capital projects team to deliver Site Engineering goals, KPIs, and portfolio commitments while building long-term project delivery capability.

  • Manage portfolio resource loading, provide visibility to stakeholders, and create development opportunities for site-based staff as appropriate.

  • Participate in regional, OpU, and Global Capital Projects Communities of Practice to share knowledge and bring best practices back to the site.

  • Represent the Engineering Capital Projects function during internal and external audits.

  • Adhere to applicable EHS requirements, Takeda’s Code of Conduct, and all expectations for fair, respectful, and compliant ways of working.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
