Drafter​/Designer

• Base Pay $55,000.00 / Year

Steel Cell is seeking a detail-oriented Drafter/Designer to join our dynamic team. The Drafter/Designer will play a critical role in the design and development process. The Drafter/Designer will create precise technical drawings and plans, utilizing industry-standard software like Inventor and AutoCAD. This position will work closely with production, engineering, scheduling, and purchasing.

• Create and revise detailed manufacturing drawings using CAD Software
• Managing engineering drawings and data in Inventor Vault environment
• Maintain drawing standards, file organization, and version control
• Collaborate with engineers and team members to clarify design requirements and resolve design issues
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and drafting standards
• Must be able to multi-task and handle several projects in a fast-paced environment, attention to details is critical
• Revise existing drawings based on feedback from the design team
• Assist with design modifications throughout the project lifecycle

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Drafting, Design, Engineering Technology, or related field
• 5 years experience in CAD software such as Inventor, AutoCAD, Revit, Solid Works, or similar
• Strong understanding of drafting standards, technical documentation, and revision control
• Familiarity with GD&T principles and manufacturing tolerances
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail
• High Competency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
• The ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
