Senior Mechanical Engineer, Peachtree City, Georgia. Working for Cooper Lighting (Signify). Responsible for the overall mechanical design of Cooper Lighting products, meeting project schedule and budget.
Key Responsibilities- Work in conjunction with internal resources and remote engineering to create the overall project timeline, define deliverables, and guide the team to completion.
- Coordinate with Marketing to ensure project specifications are clear, complete, achievable and consistent with the voice of the customer.
- Ensure design progression via CAD modeling reviews, thermal and mechanical analysis, drawing and model retention, testing plan creation, test review, and coordination with internal and third-party compliance.
- Ensure project tooling budget and product cost requirements are met.
- Coordinate with the sourcing team to identify vendors, obtain quotations, and meet quality standards/form deliverables.
5% international travel and 5% domestic travel required.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in product design with lighting fixtures.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Solid Works 3-D modeling software.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with thermal and structural simulations.
- Experience with SAP PLM.
- Knowledge of electrical and optical engineering principles and familiarity with all design, manufacturing and regulatory (UL, ES, etc.) aspects of LED lighting systems for general lighting.
- Experience with injection molded plastic, die cast, forging and sheet metal design, manufacturing methods and processes.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship.
Salary: $130,437 - $202,200.
