Mechanical Engineer – Bottling & Capping

Pro Mach (Zalkin Americas) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design capping machines, accessories, and components for bottle capping machinery. The role reports to the Operations Manager and is located in the Statham, GA area.

• Utilize Solid Works as the primary CAD platform and be proficient with AutoCAD for line layout creation and modification.
• Apply engineering principles to design new products and systems that meet company standards and customer requirements.
• Modify existing equipment designs to meet performance specifications and customer requirements.
• Research and analyze data—including customer requirements, design proposals, specifications, and manuals—to determine feasibility.
• Meet company quality standards, objectives, and deadlines to fulfill customer requirements.
• Maintain a minimum amount of rework that meets the company’s quality standards.
• Conduct design reviews with customers and coordinate with vendors as needed.
• Analyze and prioritize projects based on the scope of the established internal operations schedule.
• Interface with Manufacturing to ensure designs are fabricated, parts machined, and assemblies built correctly; revise mechanical design specifications and drawings as required.
• Coordinate with Production, Sales, Marketing, Parts, Purchasing, and Service departments to ensure on‑time delivery.
• Act as a technical resource for customers and Service Technicians to address and resolve inquiries and problems, especially during machine installation and start‑up at customer plants.

• 5+ years experience in machine design, with a focus on manufacturability. Packaging experience is preferred.
• 4‑year degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Fluency in Solid Works and AutoCAD (2D).
• Solid Works certification (CSWE or CSWP) is preferred; sheet metal experience and certification desired but not required.
• General knowledge of product handling, machine capabilities, and assembly principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
