We are partnering with a growing, well-capitalized organization in the insurance sector seeking a Vice President of Accounting & Treasury to lead core financial operations and strategy. This executive will oversee accounting, reporting, and treasury functions across a multi-entity environment and play a critical role in driving financial integrity, scalability, and operational excellence.
This is a high-impact leadership role offering visibility to senior leadership and the opportunity to shape financial infrastructure within a dynamic, growth-oriented organization. Key Responsibilities
Accounting Leadership
- Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, AR/AP, and month-end/year-end close
- Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and statutory accounting standards
- Lead preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Deliver insights on financial performance, trends, and forecasts to executive leadership
- Analyze results against budgets and provide actionable recommendations
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance
- Oversee statutory reporting requirements and coordinate premium tax filings
- Lead internal and external audit processes
- Ensure transparency and readiness across all financial reporting activities
- Oversee cash flow, banking relationships, and investment accounting
- Manage liquidity and optimize treasury operations
- Drive enhancements in accounting systems, workflows, and reporting capabilities
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's preferred)
- CPA strongly preferred
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in leadership
- Strong experience within insurance (life and/or health highly preferred)
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP and statutory accounting principles
- Proven leadership and team-building ability
- Strong technical accounting expertise
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
- Experience leading systems implementations and process improvements
