Back Office Analyst (Treasury) (Castrol)

This is a role within the Castrol organization, and the successful candidate will become part of the Castrol ring-fence. If you are part of the ring-fence, it is expected that your employment will move with Castrol to new ownership.

Our purpose is to deliver energy to the world, today and tomorrow. For over 100 years, bp has focused on discovering, developing, and producing oil and gas in the nations where we operate. We are one of the few companies globally that can provide governments and customers with an integrated energy offering. Delivering our strategy sustainably is fundamental to achieving our ambition to be a net zero company by 2050 or sooner.

It's an exciting time to join bp. Meeting the energy challenge requires many different approaches and solutions. And as part of Finance Business & Technology (FBT), you'll be fully connected into the world of bp. You'll play an increasingly important part within a network of like-minded colleagues partnering on strategic projects that stretch across the globe. And it starts with you.

There's a world of opportunities to build new skills, challenge yourself and grow a long-term career  no matter where you work, your role will have meaning, purpose and impact. So if you want to be part of a caring, supportive environment where you can realize your full potential, we're with you.

Join our Castrol Team and advance your career as a Back Office Analyst (Treasury) (Castrol)

This is a rare opportunity to help build an international treasury function from the ground up for Castrol, a global, iconic brand and well-established business with a worldwide footprint and long track record of success. What's new is treasury itself, which is being created as a standalone function ready for the separation of Castrol from bp, following bp's sale of a majority interest in Castrol to Stone Peak Partners.

As a member of the founding team, you're helping to establish Castrol treasury and contribute to Castrol's exciting future. You will shape how treasury operates, how decisions are made, how risks are managed and how Castrol works with banks, technology and partners.

This role is hands-on, practical, fast-paced and influential to achieve a successful separation in the near term and optimization in the longer term. You'll work closely with treasury and other finance colleagues, business teams, senior leaders and banks.

You won't just be joining a treasury team. You'll be helping to create one.

In this role you will:

  • Apply your expertise in corporate treasury operations, systems, policies, and procedures to help build and operate a standalone Castrol treasury function from the ground up.
  • Ensure seamless liquidity across the group by completing authorized subsidiary payments accurately and on time.
  • Support strong financial controls by delivering timely and accurate foreign exchange confirmations, ensuring smooth settlement and reconciliation.
  • Maintain robust bank account administration, enabling a well-governed, controlled global banking structure.
  • Play a key role in treasury business continuity planning, strengthening operational resilience and readiness.
  • Act as a go-to problem solver, resolving treasury operational issues and business enquiries quickly to restore service continuity.
  • Contribute to treasury projects and ad-hoc initiatives, collaborating across agile teams within the wider treasury function.
  • Take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of critical payments, driving issues through to resolution and completion.
  • Produce insightful reports and analytical tools that support treasury data review and decision-making, partnering with senior team members.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Proven experience in treasury payment operations and intercompany management, supporting smooth and controlled financial flows.
  • Hands-on experience working with banking partners and within back-office or treasury operations environments.
  • An academic background in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Data Science is highly valued.
  • Experience driving operational process improvements, with an approach focused on efficiency and continuous enhancement.
