Join our Counter party Due Diligence Team in Budapest and advance your career as a CDD Lead. Please note that this role is a parental cover position, offered for a fixed-term contract approximately until December 2028.
The role holder is responsible for accurate, timely and effective on-boarding of new counter parties, and periodic CDD review of already existing counter parties of bp's trading and shipping (ST&S) organization. Responsible for the operation of robust control processes over quality of CDD records as well as AML/ABC/CTF/sanctions risk associated with counter parties. The CDD lead works closely with regional CDD teams, the commercial organization, Ethics and Compliance, legal teams and other functions within FBT (e.g. reference data and settlements).
This role will also ensure that the on-boarding and periodic review process meets UK and International AML/KYC regulatory standards and bp and ST&S policies.
Consistent with finance strategy, this role should drive efficiencies through automation and process improvements and capability development of the team.
In this role you will:
- Conduct thorough KYC due diligence on new and existing counter parties.
- Manages own portfolio of existing counter parties to be refreshed and/or priorities of new counter party on-boardings.
- Maintain accurate and complete KYC/AML due diligence records on new and existing counter parties.
- Applies a robust risk approach and forms sound judgment calls, recommendations.
- Raise all concerns and issues to senior CDD levels as appropriate.
- Ensure effective compliance with bp's AML Standards in reviewing (four eye check) and approving counter party files.
- Maintain effective interaction with key collaborators in other units / business areas of S T&S as well as counter parties directly.
- Under supervision, may manage an activity at the team level within established guidelines and standards.
- Influence and initiate improvements to current CDD processes to increase control and efficiency.
- Assist (under supervision and direction) with design and implementation of special KYC/AML projects.
- Support implementation of KYC /AML operating procedures.
What you will need to be successful:
- Relevant finance or legal degree and
- Several years of experience in control, compliance, or finance area
- Experience from KYC/AML control functions, and CDD experience ideally within a financial services or commodities trading business
- Knowledge of KYC/CDD/AML risks and controls
- Good analytical, process and project management skills
- Ability to make risk-based decisions and/or recommendations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
