Universal Banker

Description

Versatile financial services professional responsible for providing exceptional customer service while supporting a wide range of branch operations. This role may combine teller functions, customer service responsibilities, new account openings, and/or lending support. The Universal Banker serves as a relationship builder, helping customers identify banking solutions that meet their financial needs while ensuring compliance with bank policies and procedures.

• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and check cashing.
• Balance cash drawer and maintain accurate transaction records.
• Adhere to all cash handling, security, and operational procedures.
• Identify and report suspicious or fraudulent activity.

• Deliver outstanding service to customers in person, by phone, and through electronic channels.
• Respond to customer inquiries, resolve account issues, and provide information regarding products and services.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional and courteous interactions.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the customer experience and recommend appropriate banking solutions.

• Open and maintain consumer and business deposit accounts, including checking, savings, money market, and certificates of deposit.
• Assist customers with account maintenance requests and updates.
• Explain account features, fees, and benefits to customers.
• Cross-sell and refer customers to additional products and services that meet their financial needs.

• Assist customers with basic loan inquiries and application processes.
• Gather and review documentation required for consumer and mortgage loan applications.
• Support loan officers by scheduling appointments, obtaining information, and tracking loan documentation.
• Educate customers on loan products and refer qualified prospects to lending specialists.
• Ensure compliance with applicable lending regulations and bank policies.

• Comply with all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor adherence to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and other applicable regulations.
• Identify and report suspicious activity, fraud, and security concerns.
• Maintain confidentiality of customer information and bank records.

• Previous cash-handling and customer service experience.
• Previous banking experience preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

• Knowledge of general banking operations and financial products a plus.
