Position: SECURITY SPECIALIST (TRAINING) with Security Clearance
Location: Moody A F B

Duties
* Serves as the focal point for the security forces training program, coordinating and implementing all training activities for the unit. Manages formal school requests, collective and sustainment training, ancillary, and recurring training. Schedules and conducts unit orientation and training. Develops local guidance and directives.
* Conducts training classes for security forces personnel. Prepares lesson plans and teaches formal/informal training courses in accordance with AFI 36-2225.
* Develops and monitors the accomplishment of security forces training plans and obtains/develops training aids and materials. Develops instructional curricula to meet specific training requirements and implements testing procedures.
* Attends, arranges, and conducts meetings, briefings, and workshops. Provides assistance, information, and status briefs to supervisors and branch chiefs to resolve work issues. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Position may be subject to random drug testing
* Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays

* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

* This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, SPECIALIZED

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07 (or higher), or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes Practical knowledge of commonly applied security concepts, principles, practices, and requirements to effectively coordinate and provide effective training for the unit. Practical knowledge of various security specialties such as physical, personnel, industrial, operational, and informational security to resolve well-defined questions and develop lesson plans.

Knowledge of security forces programs and objectives, and military/civilian security forces training program processes to develop comprehensive training programs and identify training requirements. Skill in developing course materials and instructional methods, principles, and techniques. Ability to instruct a training course in a classroom setting. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. OR

EDUCATION:

master's or equivalent graduate degree or2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree orLL.B. or J.D., if related.

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

You must submit a copy of your transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-08 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

NOTE:

Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE,
