CGS is seeking a Senior FOIA Analyst to support the legal mission of a large federal agency. Candidates will demonstrate expertise in processing FOIA requests, creating FOIA correspondence, and negotiating with requesters.
Responsibilities- Receive, review, and analyze new and backlogged FOIA requests.
- Intake incoming requests and prepare FOIA request folders.
- Enter request data in the FOIA tracking database.
- Draft response letters and other FOIA correspondence.
- Communicate and initiate negotiations with requesters, FOIA staff, sponsors, and contractors.
- Serve as a liaison with requesters, other agencies, and appellants for records involving multiple agencies.
- Coordinate searches for responsive documents and identify duplicate records.
- Review program records for responsiveness and make release determinations.
- Ensure released materials comply with applicable exemptions.
- Three (3) years of experience processing FOIA requests.
- Knowledge of FOIA rules and regulations, especially exemptions b(4), b(5), and b(6).
- Experience redacting records with trade secrets and confidential commercial information.
- Strong reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension of English.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to obtain a government security clearance.
- Prior federal government experience is valued.
- Experience with FOIA tools such as FOIA EXPRESS and Secure Release.
- Active security clearance preferred.

Salary: $84,177.60 - $ per year.
