Park Manager (Superintendent

The incumbent serves as the Superintendent of Andersonville National Historic Site in Andersonville, GA.

This position is also open to status candidates under announcement SE-1629-ANDE--MP.

SPECIALIZED

EXPERIENCE:

At least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience is experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform successfully the duties of the position to be filled. Experience may have been in technical, administrative, or scientific work, fish and wildlife management, recreation management, law enforcement, or other park-related work.

• Supervisory oversight of employees responsible for protection, administration, facility maintenance and operations, and visitor service duties;
• Administrative program oversight and accountability;
• Law enforcement or investigative work;
• Natural or cultural preservation management;
• Community partnership facilitation;
• Communication and public trust duties;
• Project management and team accountability;
• Forestry and/or fire management;
• Program specialist work involving the development and implementation of policy related to protection, conservation, or management of park areas or similar operations;
• and/or similar work.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
