Budget Analyst

Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position:
Serves as a Budget Analyst for the 75th Ranger at Fort Benning, Georgia. Your resume must be two pages or less.

• Monitor budget execution processes for approved organizational resources to ensure appropriately funded resources are properly allocated and expended according to fiscal regulations.
• Reconcile status of fund reports against ledger data to identify errors, correct variances, and prevent anti-deficiency violations.
• Analyze financial execution data weekly and monthly to advise management on funding status and recommend the redistribution of funds.
• Consolidate program budget execution and financial reporting data to draft recurring narrative and analytical reports for higher headquarters.
• Administer database commitment accounting systems to input daily commitment/obligation data and adjust ledger balances.
• Establish necessary financial codes for new fiscal years within ledger systems to maintain detailed transaction records.
• Coordinate tri-annual certifications and joint review processes with external accounting offices and supported units to verify report integrity.
• Review exception lists, negative un-liquidated obligations, and prompt payment interest penalties to execute corrective actions on accounting reports.
