This position provides custodial and personal care services to clients under the direction of the Staffing Coordinator in compliance with the Plan of Care.

High School Diploma/GED required.

One (1) year experience in the home or long-term care setting is preferred. CNA preferred, but will consider PCA with experience.

Staffing Coordinator.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment in the client’s residence, including light cleaning and straightening of bathroom, sleeping and living areas, washing dishes or doing laundry.
• Perform all personal care activities contained in a written Plan of Care, such as assisting the client with personal hygiene, ambulation, exercise, eating, dressing, shaving, physical transfer, and other duties as assigned.
• Provide nutritional support as needed.
• Report changes in the client’s condition to the agency supervisor.
• Assist with additional tasks as required for each client, including:
  • Use of devices for aid to daily living (wheelchair, walker, hoyer lift);
  • Prescribed range‑of‑motion exercises;
  • Teaching household routine and skills to family members;
  • Measuring intake and output of fluids;
  • Measuring and recording temperature, pulse, respiration or blood pressure;
  • Keeping records of personal health‑care activities;
  • Observing appearance and gross behavioural changes and reporting them;
• Assist the client with self‑administration of medication, limited to:
  • Taking the medication from its stored container and bringing it to the client;
  • In the client’s presence, reading the label and opening the container, removing the prescribed amount, and closing the container;
  • Placing an oral dosage in the client’s hand or helping the client by lifting the container to the mouth;
  • Returning the medication container to proper storage;
  • Keeping a record of when the client receives assistance with self‑administration;
• Mount necessary items such as juice, water, cups, or spoons to assist the client; open and close the medication container or tear foil of prepackaged medications, steady the client’s arm/hand, and abide by the agency’s infection‑control and policy procedures.

Dependent on assignment; shifts available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Hours are not guaranteed.

$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
