Speech Language Pathologist – UHC Staffing Speech Language Pathologist

Location: Ideal, Georgia

Contract Type: Perm

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Day), 30 hours/week, No weekend rotation, Meal break: 30 minutes

Hours per Week: 30

Candidate Pay Rate: $42 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Assess and diagnose speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders for geriatric patients
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that reflect patient goals, family input, and best practices
  • Deliver evidence-based SLP therapy focused on dementia-related communication and geriatric needs
  • Monitor progress, adjust interventions, and document outcomes clearly in the medical record
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies and safe swallowing techniques
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes
  • Participate in clinical meetings and contribute to a culture of continuous quality improvement
Qualifications
  • Active SLP credentials (state licensure) — preferred and encouraged
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in geriatric care and dementia populations
  • Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills with evidence-based approach
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working in an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to complete required credentialing and background checks for a permanent placement
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent graduate degree) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
  • Skilled in dysphagia assessment and management for older adults
  • Knowledge of cognitive-communication deficits associated with dementia
  • Proficient documentation and outcome tracking in electronic health records
  • Ability to train and support caregivers and family members in communication strategies
  • Strong clinical reasoning, time management, and patient-centered care skills
