- Under supervision and collaboration with overseeing physicians, perform annual wellness visits, including ordering appropriate lab screening tests and immunizations according to physician protocols.
- Demonstrate ability to multi‑task by working with multiple patients and handling multiple phone calls for appointment related requests, refills, referrals, and authorizations.
- Display flexibility by supporting other positions and serving in a backup role for the Front Desk Support Specialist, including checking in patients, updating patient information, taking payments, scheduling, and completing forms.
- Responsible for EMR documentation, patient work‑up including vitals, updating patient information, and patient education.
- Perform all other assigned tasks within the scope of certification.
- High school diploma / GED and at least six months of healthcare experience.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) position requires current national CMA certification;
Phlebotomy experience is required for CMAs and preferred for MAs. - CPR certification earned within six months of start date; current CPR certification is preferred.
- Computer proficiency for patient check‑in/out, payment posting, scanning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi‑task.
- Experience with an electronic medical record system, preferably EMD and/or Athena.
- Multi‑tasking with office functions of medical practice.
- Operate basic office equipment: computers, fax, scanner, copier, multi‑line phone.
- Oral and written communication skills, including interviewing to gather medical histories and accurate documentation.
- Effective communication among providers.
- Interpret, adapt, and apply physician protocols, guidelines, and recommendations.
- Work as part of a team and autonomously; flexible with various job requirements; positive attitude; initiative; willingness to learn and perform new tasks.
