The Medical Assistant works under the direction of the RN or LPN and is responsible for the following tasks:

• Monitoring patient vital signs.
• Implementing orders for diagnostic lab tests.
• Assisting the Physician with minor procedures.
• Recording EKGs.
• Maintaining and cleaning medical equipment.
• Collecting data for Quality Improvement programs as assigned.

• Current Georgia Medical Assistant license/certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• Phlebotomy certification required.
• Corrections experience preferred, not required.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, including drug screen and criminal background check.
