- Checks patient medical records for past histories, enters treatments and charges in computer.
- Takes medical histories and vital signs of patients.
- Maintains client educational material in an efficient manner.
- Performs departmental housekeeping duties.
- Perform specimen testing procedures accurately on blood, urine, or other samples according to medical orders using all related equipment and computers.
- Dispense medication and feed patients as directed.
- Communicate with patient’s owner by describing medication, possible complications, and warnings.
- Utilize computer system to enter and reference patient information as needed.
- Document test results and deliver to appropriate personnel promptly.
- Assures all materials are in exam rooms for doctors such as otoscopes and nail clippers.
- Maintains cleanliness of exam rooms at all times.
- Admits and discharges patients.
- Takes, processes, and logs prescription refills in-house, calls out pharmacy and online pharmacy.
- Monitors hospital patients and logs vital signs.
- Administers medications to patients as needed.
- Restrains and assists the doctor or technician during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.
- Send out records, bloodwork and/or x‑rays/ultrasound images for referrals as needed.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and stand on feet for long periods.
- Other duties as assigned by Doctors, Practice Manager, and/or Lead Veterinary Technician Supervisor.

Education/ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Veterinary Technicians in Georgia are preferred, but not necessarily required. We are open and willing to train the right candidate.
