BER - CLINICAL LAB

Full Time, 7on/7off, 8-10

Responsible for quality performance and reporting of analyses of technical procedures for the benefit of optimal patient care within the limits of laboratory policy and procedures according to FDA, JCAHO, CAP, STATE, AABB, OSHA regulations.

• Meet one of the following requirements: earned a doctoral, master's or bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution; have earned an associate degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or have education and training equivalent to that specified by CLIA that includes at least 60 semester hours, or equivalent, from an accredited institution that, at a minimum, include either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses;
  
  or 24 semester hours of science courses that include six semester hours of chemistry; six semester hours of biology; and twelve semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination; and have laboratory training that includes either of the following: completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by the ABHES, the CAHEA, or other organization approved by HHS.
  
  (This training may be included in the 60 semester hours listed above) At least 3 months documented laboratory training in each specialty in which the individual performs high complexity testing or have previously qualified or could have qualified as a technologist under 493.1491 on or before February 28, 1992.
• Must be certified with a recognized Medical Technologist certifying agency such as ASCP, AMT, HHS/HEW, AAB, or others as an MT. Persons who meet the above CLIA requirements for high complexity testing who are not certified as a Medical Technologist, will be given 1 year post hire date to obtain a certification. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient’s seen in their assigned area.
  
  Must be able to assess and interpret data about the patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s age specific needs and provide the care needed by our patient groups (i.e., neonate, pediatric, adolescent and/or geriatric). Normal…
