As a PH Environmental Health Specialist within the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

- Blue Ridge, GA
Under supervision, assists in performing inspections, interviews, and technical reviews for an environmental health program in a public health department. Assists in investigating complaints and recommending enforcement action as necessary.
- Under supervision, the candidate will learn to evaluate programs for compliance with Georgia Environmental Health Regulations and perform public health inspections of the following:
On-Site Sewage Management Systems, Animal Bite Investigations, Food Service Establishments, Public Swimming Pools, Tourist Accommodations, Body Art Studios. - Under supervision, candidate will respond to public health emergencies as requested. All county public health employees are deemed essential in the event of an emergency and are required to participate in emergency functions.
- Must be able to drive a personal vehicle and/or company vehicle for work daily for inspection duties.
- Must be able to work in various climates both outdoor and indoors.
- Job has physical demands—frequent standing, bending, walking. May require occasional lifting of 25 to 40lbs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, which includes the completion of 27 semester or 40 quarter hours in laboratory sciences (e.g., chemistry, biology, geology, physics, etc.).
This is a salary position and based on a 40-hour work week, M-F 8am to 5pm. This job qualifies for PSLF. See (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).-service

CBH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered.
