Occupational Therapist PRN Saturdays

Join a dynamic therapy team providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals across acute, observation, and swing-bed levels. Our Occupational Therapists work with a diverse caseload, including orthopedic, post-operative, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and medically complex patients. This role focuses on restoring functional independence through ADL retraining, cognitive and perceptual interventions, activity tolerance building, and safe discharge planning. Ideal candidates are adaptable, collaborative, and passionate about supporting patients as they progress through recovery in an inpatient hospital environment.

The Occupational Therapist plays a critical role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals facing physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges by enabling them to perform daily activities independently. This position involves assessing patients' needs, developing personalized treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to improve their functional abilities. The therapist collaborates closely with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and support.

Through ongoing evaluation and adjustment of therapy techniques, the therapist helps patients achieve measurable progress toward their rehabilitation goals. Ultimately, this role contributes to empowering patients to regain autonomy and improve their overall well-being within their home and community environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to identify therapy needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's goals and conditions.
  • Provide hands-on therapy sessions and instruct patients in exercises and activities to enhance their functional skills.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care and support patient progress.
  • Document patient progress, update treatment plans as necessary, and ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Skills:

The Occupational Therapist utilizes strong clinical assessment skills daily to evaluate patient needs and develop effective treatment plans. Communication skills are essential for educating patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care. Problem-solving abilities enable the therapist to adapt interventions to meet individual patient challenges and progress. Time management and organizational skills are critical for balancing patient caseloads, documentation, and follow-up activities efficiently.

Additionally, proficiency with technology, including electronic health records and assistive devices, supports accurate documentation and enhances therapy delivery.
