Registered Dietitian Skilled Nursing Services

SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting in the planning, organization, development, implementation, andmonitoring of clinical nutrition for skilled nursing centers through communication, participation in meetings and strategic initiatives. Works in collaboration with the Dining Services team in the skilled nursing center to facilitate a seamless approach to Dining and Nutrition Services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists with developing, coordinating, overseeing, and implementation of clinicalnutrition strategic initiatives, projects, survey management, trainings, best practices, resources, and procedural guidelines in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations governing skilled nursing centers, and asmay be directed by leadership.
• Assists with implementation and maintenance of an ongoing quality assurance program fornutritional services and management. This includes reports, audits,evaluations, etc.
• Followsknowledge of current industry trends, evidence based practice recommendations,professional standards, and regulatory guidance. Maintains appropriate credentials and continuing education.
• Participates in Dining and Nutrition strategic planning meetings. Contributes to the work of committees,work groups, project management, financial plans regarding dining and nutritional services, and other collaborative efforts of the organization.
• Providescommunication with leadership and other regional support routinely and asneeded regarding nutritional services and management, skilled nursing centeropportunities or needs, and outcomes.
• Provides input and guidance to skilled nursing center leadership and physiciansregarding nutritional services and management.
  
  This includes participating in center surveys and assisting with reviewing and providing recommendations for a plan of correction for dining and nutritional services.
• Providesonsite skilled nursing center visits to provide service and support for food service managers related to nutritional services and management. This includes review of patient clinicalnutrition documentation, outcomes, and delivery of nutritional services withmeal service.
• Performs other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’sDegree in Dietetics and registered by the Commission of Dietetic Registration.
• Licensedas a Registered Dietitian in the State of Georgia.
• Extensive knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and registered dietitian standards of practice.
• Extensive knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations governing patient care and treatment and related services or activities
• Abilityto effectively communicate and present information in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in writing.
