Avery Village Senior Living is currently seeking a Full-time/Part-time Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our Resident Care team. We are looking for an individual who is devoted, compassionate, self-motivated, and passionate about their chosen career.

This position plays a vital role in the health, safety, comfort, and overall well-being of our residents while helping create a warm and supportive environment they are proud to call home.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications safely and accurately according to physician orders and established medication administration procedures

  • Document medication administration and treatments thoroughly and accurately within resident records and MAR/eMAR systems

  • Monitor residents for changes in physical, emotional, behavioral, or cognitive condition and report concerns immediately to appropriate leadership

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility assistance, and transfers as needed

  • Take and document vital signs, weights, and additional health observations when required

  • Maintain proper storage, handling, security, and accountability of all medications

  • Respond appropriately and efficiently to resident emergencies or incidents

  • Support residents living with dementia and memory-related conditions through patient, compassionate, person-centered care

  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, pharmacy providers, healthcare professionals, and fellow team members

  • Assist with meal service, hydration support, and resident comfort when needed

  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming living environment

  • Follow all community policies, infection control procedures, safety standards, and state regulations

  • Work collaboratively with caregivers and leadership to ensure continuity of excellent resident care

  • Participate in required training, continuing education, and staff meetings

QUALIFICATIONS OF A MED-TECH:

  • Must hold an active State Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Previous experience in assisted living, senior living, memory care, or long-term care preferred

  • Knowledge of safe medication administration procedures and documentation requirements

  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred

  • Ability to lift, assist, transfer, bend, stand, and physically assist residents throughout shift

  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently while remaining a strong and dependable team player
