Position: People Generalist
Location: Bolton

We are an innovative and market‑leading software & services company based in Houston serving clients in the utility sector ranging from new entrants to large existing suppliers. We deliver sophisticated software solutions and managed services in a Private Cloud infrastructure, servicing both traditional and modern real‑time, smart energy clients.

We operate a Hybrid working policy so you will be able to flex between working in the office and your home location to carry out this role, however during your initial training period the need to be in the office with other team members will be essential. This role requires a minimum of 2/3 days per week in office and may require more subject to business needs.

Position Responsibilities
  • Helping build and maintain a strong organizational culture, as well as continuously improving the employee experience
  • Provide advice and suggestions for culture‑related initiatives
  • Addressing employee queries and concerns on general people queries, administrative procedures and providing support and guidance around our policies in line with labor laws
  • Investigating and resolving employee relations issues
  • Providing the day‑to‑day delivery of efficient and effective people support
  • Updating policies and procedures; ensuring policies comply with legal requirements and best practices
  • Assisting with recruitment processes, including screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and communicating status changes to candidates
  • Assisting with the onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Front end HRIS Management;
    Providing basic HRIS Reports; maintaining employee data
  • Supporting managers with performance reviews and new hire appraisals; providing guidance on performance improvement plans
  • Contributing to audit and compliance activities
  • Maintaining personnel files/records and processing People Paperwork and changes into the HRIS
  • Managing Training Program Requests
  • Advising employees on company benefits packages and assisting with benefits administration tasks and resolutions for employees
  • Completing People & Culture billing administration and reconciliations
  • Managing unemployment claims, required reporting, and compliance for multiple jurisdictions
  • Processing leaves of absence and providing guidance to managers
  • Supporting People & Culture strategy initiatives
  • Acting as a point of contact for related inquiries
Requirements
  • Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio)
  • Knowledge of ADP and Workable is desirable
  • Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Transactional HR/People Administration Tasks
  • Managing Unemployment Claims
  • Processing Leaves of Absence; coordinating internal and external leave policies, including STD, FMLA, and any State required PFML; communicating with employees and managers on the full cycle leave process
  • Benefits Administration
  • Assisting with onboarding/offboarding processes and full cycle recruitment
  • Managing Employee Relations and providing managers with assistance on performance reviews, improvement plans, and training plans
  • Creating effective employee communications
  • Updating policies and maintaining compliance with current laws
  • Completing internal auditing and reconciliations as well as providing external audit data and information
You must have:
  • HR/People Experience with 2 years in a Coordinator or Assistant Role
  • 0‑2 years in an HR/People Generalist role
  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
You will be:
  • Detail‑oriented and extremely organized with the ability to learn new programs and procedures quickly
  • Able to multitask and prioritize
  • Strong with time management skills
  • A strong communicator with interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
