About this Role:

We are seeking a software cost and technology specialist to join the Design to Cost team within Direct-to-Consumer (D2C). This role focuses on end-to-end software and service cost analysis, supporting commercial decision-making, supplier negotiations, and steering committee outcomes. You will work closely with Supply Chain Management and Group Technology stakeholders, translating technical software requirements into robust, bottom-up cost models that drive transparency, efficiency, and value.

What you'll do:

  • Conduct end-to-end software and service should-cost analyses by identifying, assessing, and modelling key cost drivers.
  • Define and size software technical specifications, assessing requirement quality and maturity.
  • Perform function point analysis and process mapping to identify inefficiencies and optimisation opportunities.
  • Build clean-sheet cost models covering software delivery, testing, implementation, and nearshore or field-based service support.
  • Register savings opportunities, set cost-reduction ambitions, and support steering committee decisions in tender processes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in supplier negotiations, working alongside Category Managers to achieve best-in-class commercial outcomes.

Who you are:

  • Degree-qualified in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Software Development, or a related discipline.
  • Experienced in software functionality, application development concepts, and Agile delivery approaches.
  • Technically fluent, with the ability to understand software architectures, cost drivers, and service delivery models without needing to code.
  • Comfortable engaging with diverse stakeholders and presenting complex technical topics to non-technical audiences, including senior leaders.
  • Analytical, structured, and pragmatic, with strong problem-solving capability and a continuous-improvement mindset.
  • It would be an advantage to have experience in software testing and quality processes, clean-sheet costing, function point analysis (e.g. COSMIC or IFPUG), cloud economics, Fin Ops principles, Lean or Six Sigma methodologies, or technology consulting environments.

What's in it for you:

  • Exposure to high-impact, global sourcing and technology cost-optimisation initiatives.
  • The opportunity to influence major commercial decisions within a leading international organisation.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional experts across technology, supply chain, and procurement.
  • A role that values curiosity, independent thinking, and continuous improvement.

What skills you will learn:

  • Advanced software and service cost modelling techniques.
  • Practical application of function point analysis and clean-sheet costing.
  • Commercial negotiation support within complex, matrix organisations.
  • Stakeholder engagement across global technology and procurement communities.
