SANY America plans to upgrade from SAP ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4

HANA and drive ERP‑related digital transformation over the next 1–2 years. We are seeking an experienced U.S.

-based SAP S/4

HANA System Expert to work closely with China headquarters, business teams, and external implementation partners to support ERP upgrade planning, implementation, and successful delivery.

This role will serve as the ERP system owner for SANY America, deeply involved throughout the ERP transformation journey. The position will act as a key bridge among business stakeholders, headquarters teams, implementation partners, and management. After go‑live, the role will continue to lead system optimization and business support.

HANA System Expert

Employment Type: Full‑time

Work Arrangement: On‑site required

Travel: Domestic U.S. and China travel may be required based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities
3.1. ERP Transformation Project Management

Lead and support the SAP ECC to SAP S/4

HANA upgrade project, including:

  • Managing project scope, risks, and issues
  • Participating in vendor selection and implementation consultant interviews
  • Supporting business blueprinting, process design, and solution design
  • Driving system configuration and development
  • Coordinating system integration testing and user acceptance testing
  • Supporting data migration planning, cutover, go‑live, and post‑go‑live support
  • Maintaining project documentation and providing regular progress updates to management
3.2. Business Requirements and Process Management

Lead business requirement management and process optimization, including:

  • Facilitating business workshops to gather and analyze requirements
  • Driving standardization of ERP‑related business processes
  • Reviewing requirement feasibility and priority
  • Controlling unnecessary customization and development
Key business areas include:
  • Finance management
  • Inventory management
  • Manufacturing
  • Supply chain management
3.3. System Operations and Continuous Improvement

After go‑live, ensure stable system operations and support ongoing business development, including:

  • User support and issue resolution
  • System configuration maintenance
  • Business process optimization
  • User access and authorization management
  • Functional enhancements and change request management
  • SAP and related certificate renewals, upgrades, and patch management
  • User training and knowledge transfer
  • System performance optimization
  • Interface and background batch job monitoring
  • Daily operations documentation management
4 Qualifications Required
  • 10+ years of SAP implementation experience
  • 5+ years of SAP S/4

    HANA project experience
  • Experience participating in at least two full‑cycle large‑scale SAP S/4

    HANA implementation projects
  • Prior experience as a core project member, module lead, or solution lead
  • Strong understanding of end‑to‑end ERP business processes in a manufacturing environment
Preferred
  • Experience upgrading from SAP ECC to SAP S/4

    HANA
  • Multi‑country or multi‑entity rollout experience
5 Functional Expertise

Must be highly proficient in at least two of the following core SAP modules:

  • FI/CO: Finance and Controlling
  • SD: Sales and Distribution
  • MM: Materials Management / Procurement and Inventory Management

Candidates with FI/CO + SD or FI/CO + MM experience are highly preferred.

Additional experience in the following areas is a plus:
  • PP — Production Planning
  • QM — Quality Management
  • EWM — Extended Warehouse Management
  • Service Management
6 Industry Experience
  • Manufacturing experience is required. Experience in the following industries is preferred:
    Construction machinery, Heavy equipment, Industrial equipment and Automotive
  • Target company experience may include:
    Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo Construction Equipment, John Deere and Hitachi Construction Machinery
7 Business Process Experience

Familiarity with the following end‑to‑end processes is required:

  • Order to cash
  • Procure to pay
  • Record to report
  • Plan to produce
  • Service to cash
  • Warranty management
8 Language Requirements

Fluent English is required. Fluent Mandarin Chinese is preferred, with the ability to communicate effectively with China headquarters, U.S. business teams, and external consultants.

9 Education
  • Preferred majors include Information Systems or Computer Science
