Position: ATTORNEY-ADVISOR (GENERAL) with Security Clearance
Location: Robins Air Force Base

Duties
* Advises the 78 ABW/Commander, as well as subordinate and tenant commanders and managers, on a host of general law matters. Evaluates claims, represents the Staff Judge Advocate on committees, working groups, and inter-disciplinary teams, and in conference and meetings
* Practices areas of administrative law and/or operations law, as determined by the Staff Judge Advocate
* Prepares for and represents the AF/installation and its legal interests in correspondence, meeting, negotiations, and judicial and administrative hearings, involving federal, state, and local (and overseas, foreign) official , parties with adverse interests, and commercial entities
* Provides legal assistance to active duty military, dependents, eligible Department of Defense (DoD) civilians, retirees, and other DoD cardholders, consistent with Air Force Instructions (AFIs) and legal office policy.
* As assistant Claims Officer for Robins AFB, coordinate with and advise commanders and other organizations on claims matters, investigative procedures, and legal implications Requirements Conditions of employment

* Selectee is expected to be granted with and/or maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the position
* Selectee may be required to serve a probationary period or trial period
* Attorney appointments are subject to serve a one-year probationary period.
* Candidates are not required to have active duty service or veterans' preference to be referred and considered. All qualified candidates who meet the recruitment assessment criteria will be referred to the selecting official.
* Mobility is a condition of employment. The employee must sign an Air Force-wide mobility agreement
* This is a Centrally Managed position under the Legal Career Field. PCS expenses, if authorized, will be paid IAW JTR and Air Force Regulations
* Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
* Incumbent is required to travel on temporary duty to meet with clients and other individuals, and to attend hearings, trials, conferences and seminars.
* Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY) by military commercial aircraft approximately 10 days per year
* Incumbents prior knowledge of or experience in Judge Advocate and/or DoD operations and procedures and extensive general practice of the law is desired to reasonably ensure the degree of legal professionalism required.
* Incumbent must be a graduate of a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, and be admitted to the practice of law before the highest court of as state, territory, possession, or commonwealth of the United States. Qualifications GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
* You MUST have successfully completed a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and have the first professional law degree (LLB or JD).
* In addition, at the time of application, you must provide proof, dated within four months of application, of "active" status with a bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia. On-line information is allowed as long as it shows that you are in "active" status. Basic Qualification Requirement:
You must meet ALL of the following qualification requirements and provide documentation to support your qualifications (If you are using education to qualify, failure to submit the required documentation will result in you being rated ineligible. See sections on "College Transcripts" and "Foreign Education" below for required documentation.):

* Education:

Have a first professional law degree (LL.B. or J.D.) that is accredited by the American Bar Association.
* Bar Membership:
Active membership in good standing in the Bar or highest court of a state, or U.S. territory, U.S. commonwealth or District of Columbia; never been disciplined, sanctioned, or had fitness to practice law challenged by any bar or court or a state or territory of the U.S. or District of Columbia (Failure to provide documentation of bar membership and good standing will result in an ineligible rating.)

* Professional

Experience:

You must have professional experience in excess of two (2) years commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of this position or second professional law degree (L.L.M), plus one year of professional legal experience at GS-11 level. KNOWLEDGE,
