We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Materials Planner to serve as the primary customer interface while managing production scheduling, component planning, and supplier coordination. This role plays a critical part in ensuring on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and alignment between customer demand and production capabilities. The ideal candidate will have strong SAP experience, a deep understanding of logistics processes, and the ability to manage cross-functional coordination in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers
- Manage customer forecasts, call-offs, and Just-In-Sequence (JIS) processing
- Monitor customer demand and identify significant fluctuations
- Ensure adherence to all customer requirements and manage customer portals
- Manage customer scorecards and performance metrics
- Coordinate engineering changes with customers and internal teams
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on manpower, machine capacity, and material availability
- Maintain target inventory levels to support customer requirements
- Escalate scheduling deviations and coordinate additional overtime when necessary
- Incorporate engineering changes into production schedules
- Set up and maintain SAP parameters (lead time, safety stock, etc.)
- Distribute supplier shipment requirements based on SAP demand signals
- Manage component inventory levels and obsolete parts
- Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOM)
- Monitor component receipts and ensure timely follow-up
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time shipments
- Coordinate with carriers to ensure delivery schedules are met
- Develop recovery plans to address supply or demand disruptions
- Coordinate expedited freight when required
- Monitor inventory accuracy and implement corrective actions as needed
- Maintain compliance with ISO 14001, TS 16949, and IATF 16949 standards
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline
- Strong understanding of logistics processes, supply chain trends, and manufacturing environments
- Experience working with SAP (MRP planning preferred)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Effective communication and presentation skills
