Customs Specialist (NE

Syncreon/SP World is looking for an experienced Customs Specialist to join our growing team located in Palmetto, GA
. The role will oversee the processing and shipping of outbound goods, ensuring compliance with customs regulations by tracking shipments, communicating with customers and broker agents, categorizing shipments using product coding systems, and reviewing documentation for accuracy.

• Draft and accurately check customs, trade, and transport documents for technical processing.
• Prepare and handle transport declarations (T1/T2), import and export declarations, and any other export documentation.
• Control day‑to‑day operational customs activities, including risk determination, administrative process control, and internal recording to meet compliance requirements.
• Coordinate tariff technical classification aspects, tax, and non‑tax legislation (VGEM) for both international and national customs matters.
• Communicate with customs/tax authorities, transporters, and external customers about handling customs procedures and related issues.
• Draft, apply, and supervise export documents via the appropriate organizations, written and electronically, when assigned.
• Keep up to date on changes and developments within customs and tax legislation while reporting to the Customs Supervisor and providing solutions to problems.
• Advise internal operations and the customs management framework on customs‑specific information as requested.
• Other duties as assigned.

Your Key Qualifications

• University degree required.
• Experience in drafting electronic transport declarations and import/export declarations.
• In-depth knowledge of origin and value provisions, customs laws, and export documents (CvO, EUR1, ATR) both internationally and nationally.
• Flexibility regarding shift work, including evenings and weekend duties occasionally.
• Ability to problem‑solve under stressful situations.
• Customer‑oriented, quality‑conscious, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
