BER - Housekeeping

Full Time, 8 hr evening shift, 3 pm – 11:30 pm, Sunday – Thursday

To perform major floor cleaning and refinishing functions in accordance with standard procedures of the housekeeping department and the facility’s objectives. Clean and maintain all carpeted and hard surfaces in the facility. Perform preventive maintenance on special floor equipment. Use cleaning devices including automatic floor equipment, 20” roto, commercial vacuum cleaners, and 24 oz. mops, wringers, and all other necessary equipment, tools, products, and supplies in the performance of the job.

Participate in the department’s performance improvement activities.

• Must satisfy requirements of pre‑employment and annual physical including ability to climb ladders.
• Demonstrate skills and knowledge of proper use of chemicals and equipment in stripping and refinishing floors and in shampooing carpeting to achieve desired results.
• Pass a test of skill and mechanical aptitude to detect any equipment malfunctions for safety to self and others.

Comfortable routine working conditions with possibility of irregular schedule including weekends. Exposure to certain levels of stress. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds. Exposed to hazard of burns and cuts due to working with hot equipment. Constant standing or walking with regular periods of concentration.
