Job Summary: This position performs technical duties in the maintenance of City cart paths or streets for the corresponding department.

Essential Functions:

Builds, maintains, and repairs City cart paths and/or streets.

Aids in masonry work, such as building headwalls, retaining walls, and catch basins.

Grades; prepares forms, pours, and finishes concrete for curb/gutter, sidewalks, and handicap access ramps.

Flags for traffic as needed.

Assists in installing and repairing drainage pipes; repairs potholes, trenches, and curbs; digs trenches for pipes; cleans debris from storm sewers, catch basins, and drains.

Loads and unloads materials, supplies, equipment, trash, and debris.

Performs vehicle and equipment safety inspections; ensures maintenance and cleaning; reports defects.

Operates various vehicles and equipment, including chainsaws for trimming/removing trees, and sweeps streets.

Assists with special City events and projects.

Works weekends and holidays as required.

Responds to after-hours and weather-related emergencies.

Attends specialized safety training as required.
