The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS) is seeking applicants for the position of Fiscal Operations Manager
. This position reports to the Regional Accounting Unit Manager, Metro District. The Fiscal Operations Manager provides daily leadership and supervision to the overall operations of the Field Fiscal Services Unit. Provides management level functions including budgetary control and reporting. Recommends and implements accounting policies and procedures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Directs subordinate supervisors and staff. This position is located in Clayton County, Georgia
.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations of the regional accounting office.
  • Analyze and reconcile accounting data and transactions.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain budget and financial records for the department or unit.
  • Create and maintain a high-performance environment characterized by positive leadership and team orientation.
  • Apply generally accepted accounting principles in recording financial activity in accounting systems and varied subsystems.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and three (3) years of professional accounting job-related experience, which includes one (1) year in a supervisory role.
  • OR two (2) years of experience at the lower-level Accountant Spv (FIP
    024) or equivalent position.
Preferred Skills/

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a Business or Accounting field and three (3) years of professional accounting experience with two (2) years supervisory experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good communication skills, written and oral.
  • Ability to read and interpret financial reports.
  • Knowledge of job-relevant policies and procedures at the state and federal levels.
