Division Controller

DIVISION CONTROLLER We are partnering with a large, complex organization to identify a Division Controller to lead accounting operations for a multi-billion-dollar business segment. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of all accounting activities, while elevating processes to a best-in-class standard. The position offers significant visibility and the opportunity to help shape a finance organization operating with public-company rigor.

The Division Controller will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, balance sheet integrity, and management reporting. This leader will manage a team of 10 (Directors, Manager and staff) and collaborate closely with regional finance leaders and shared services teams to drive consistency, scalability, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities also include strengthening internal controls in alignment with SOX requirements, supporting audit activities, overseeing project-based revenue recognition and job-cost accounting, and partnering cross-functionally with operations, FP&A, and senior leadership.

The right candidate is a CPA (required) with 12-16+ years of progressive experience in corporate or operational controllership roles within large, decentralized environments. Strong expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting systems is required, along with demonstrated success leading teams across multiple locations. This role calls for strong experience with project/cost accounting, and a hands-on, influential leader who can navigate complexity, drive change, and build strong partnerships across the organization.

Experience with large-scale businesses, shared services environments, and process transformation initiatives is highly valued. Note - seeking candidates EXCLUSIVELY in Atlanta, GA or Houston, TX.
