Duties

Serving as a Deputy Division Chief (Organizational Health Division) GS-0301-14 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the Organizational Health Division within Mission and Readiness Support Directorate located in Glynco, Georgia .

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Deputy Division Chief and, in conjunction with the Division Chief, share responsibility for the overall performance and technical activities of staff assigned to the division, including the quality, quantity, and content of their work.

The Deputy Division Chief is responsible for oversight and management of medical programs, services, and personnel within the Organizational Health Department (OHD).

• Providing oversight of medical programs and initiatives assigned to the division, including monitoring quarterly progress reports and submitting reports to the supervisor identifying areas requiring program, procedure, or document revision or development.
• Performing personnel management responsibilities as a first-line supervisor, such as maintaining discipline, counseling employees, evaluating performance, and approving leave.
• Developing and implementing a professional development plan.
• Participating in meetings, project planning, report preparation, and the development of medical policies and procedures.

You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as: 1.) Evaluating medical or healthcare programs and initiatives, 2.) Implementing medical policies, procedures, and program guidance, 3.) Leading program analyses, project, and process improvement, and 4.) Leading personnel and collaborating with stakeholders to support medical program operations and achieve organizational objectives.

Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.
