Job Summary

Under direct supervision, transfers products/materials into and/or out of the warehouse. Unloads trailers and moves materials throughout the facility.

Essential Job Functions
  • Unloads trucks with incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Transfers material, equipment, kits, and supplies required for assembly areas.
  • Stacks pallets and arranges materials as directed, while adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Has beginner, intermediate, and advanced skills on a powered industrial truck such as forklifts or cherry pickers.
  • Handles, allocates, and transfers material, equipment, kits, supplies, and shortages in assembly areas.
  • Verifies and maintains stock records, logs, reports, and other documentation.
  • Moves materials to storage or staging areas and ensures proper placement in appropriate location.
  • Maintains productivity standards for each operational area.
  • Maintains inventory levels by identifying, labeling, stocking, and recording materials and supplies.
  • Recognizes damaged product during the warehousing process and takes appropriate action.
  • Responds to material requests from internal customers.
  • Responsible and accountable for receipt, storage, and handling of hazardous materials.
  • Cycle counts inventory as needed.
  • Recommends countermeasure for inventory‑related discrepancies.
Travel Required

Up to 10% travel required on an intermittent basis.

Education & Experience

Material Handler I:
High School Diploma or GED. Little or no prior relevant experience required. Two years of warehouse experience required. Ability to operate materials handling equipment including forklifts, pallet handler, and hand trucks.

Material Handler II
:
High School Diploma or GED. Five years of warehouse experience required. Solid verbal communication and listening skills. Prior experience tracking and updating information in an ERP system desired.

Material Handler III
:
High School Diploma or GED. Five years of warehouse experience required. Solid verbal communication and listening skills.

Physical Demands
  • Stand, walk for extended periods.
  • Maintain balance to prevent falling.
  • Hold arms and hands in one position for extended periods.
  • Use hands and fingers to move and assemble small parts.
  • Repetitive motions of body parts.
  • Coordinate use of hands and feet to operate equipment.
  • Carry or move materials and equipment up to 51 lbs.
  • Operate manual and powered hand tools.
  • Operate powered industrial trucks and equipment.
  • Operate machinery (e.g., press brakes, refrigerant charging stations, hoists).
  • Frequent manual labor that includes bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling.
  • Squat and kneel to access materials and equipment in tight or enclosed spaces. Occasionally crawl to access equipment.
  • Handle chemicals.
  • Close visual acuity required for tasks involving small parts, measurement devices, or assembly.
  • Communicate with others to exchange information.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing, warehouse, and supporting areas.
  • Hazardous conditions such as electricity, moving equipment, moving parts, refrigerants, chemicals, torches, solvents, dust, dirt, fumes, contaminants.
  • Indoor and outdoor environmental conditions including heat, cold, precipitation, wind, sunlight.
  • Exposure to vibrations and moderate‑to‑loud noises.
  • Personal Protective Equipment required (safety glasses, goggles, face shields, welding shields, protective clothing, toe‑toed footwear, hearing protection, gloves, aprons, protective sleeves, hard hats, harnesses, respiratory protection).
