Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Laser Programmer with CNC Press Brake programming experience to support production operations. This role is responsible for creating and optimizing programs for laser cutting and press brake machines to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and high-quality finished parts. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of fabrication processes, blueprints, and sheet metal manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities- Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for laser cutting and press brake operations
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine programming requirements
- Select proper tooling, bend sequences, and machine settings for efficient production
- Nest parts to maximize material usage and reduce waste
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve design or manufacturing issues
- Set up and troubleshoot laser and press brake machines as needed
- Verify first-piece quality and ensure parts meet specifications and tolerances
- Maintain accurate program documentation and revision control
- Monitor production performance and recommend process improvements
- Follow all safety procedures and company quality standards
- Experience programming CNC laser cutting machines (Trumpf, Bystronic, Amada, or similar)
- Experience programming and/or operating CNC press brakes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and GD&T
- Familiarity with programming software such as Tru Tops, BySoft, AutoCAD, Solid Works, or similar
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication, bend allowances, and material properties
- Basic knowledge of tooling selection and machine setup
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- 2+ years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with nesting software and production optimization
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
- Knowledge of ERP or production management systems
- Manufacturing or fabrication facility
- Standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
- Exposure to shop equipment and production noise
