** PRIMARY FUNCTION:
** Primarily responsible for operating stunner, scalder and picking equipment ensuring poultry exiting live hang processes through equipment correctly.
** RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
*** Monitor and adjust settings and maintain salt levels in stunner to ensure optimal performance
* Maintain correct temperature and water levels in scalder to ensure proper functioning
* Adjust pickers to remove feathers from poultry while minimizing broken wings
* Perform and document wing breakage checks, including live cages a minimum of three (3) times per week
* Monitor paw cutting/ picking system, adjust as necessary to ensure paws are cut
* Follow all safety initiatives, (i.e. wear appropriate PPE in area where mandatory)  helping to maintain a zero accident culture
* Perform all work in compliance with company, regulatory bodies, animal welfare policies and guidelines and Federal, State and local legal requirements
* Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
** EDUCATION and

CERTIFICATIONS:

*** High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
*
* EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

*** Bi-lingual ability preferred, but not required
* Ability to communicate in and comprehend English
* Basic computer and math skills
** SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
*** Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
* Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory
* Lock Out Tag Out training / certification will be required if replacing picker fingers
*
* PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

*** Ability to work in a hot or cold and wet environment
* Ability to stand for an 8 hour shift
* Ability to work non-standard hours (holidays, weekends and extended shifts) as needed
