Poultry Processing Worker

Day Shift: Starting at $19.35/hr

Night Shift: Starting at $20.35/hr

Position Summary:

The Poultry Processing Plant Worker is responsible for performing various tasks on the production line to process poultry products efficiently and safely. This role involves handling, preparing, and packaging poultry in accordance with company standards, food safety regulations, and quality guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sort, trim, cut, or debone poultry using knives, scissors, or machinery.
• Inspect poultry for quality and remove defective pieces.
• Operate equipment such as conveyor belts, cutting machines, or packaging tools as assigned.
• Package processed poultry into designated containers or bags for shipment or storage.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, adhering to hygiene and safety protocols.
• Follow supervisor instructions and meet production quotas or deadlines.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to management promptly.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and wet environment in a variety of temperatures (cold and hot).
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods (8+ hours per day).
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. as needed.
• Good hand-eye coordination is required.
• Must be able to understand Good Manufacturing Practices and Product Handling procedures.
• Teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with coworkers.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Work is often performed in a refrigerated facility with exposure to water, noise, and poultry odors.
• Frequent exposure to blood and viscera may occur.
• Protective gear (e.g., gloves, aprons, hairnets) provided and required.
• Shift work, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends, may be required.
