Job Summary
Title: Kilns/Lift Operator II
Location: Warrenton, GA 30828
Salary: $21.50 to $28/hr depending on experience. Compensation may increase based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the mill.
Shift
Hours:
6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
Work pattern: 3 days on, 3 days off, 3 days on, 3 days off, 3 nights on, 3 days off, 3 nights on, 3 days off, repeating.

331 Thomson Hwy, Warrenton, GA 30828
- Knowledge and understanding of the kiln alarm system and ability to react appropriately.
- Control of process parameters (tank levels, temperatures, flows, moisture readings, etc.).
- Use a computer to control burners and kilns safely while ensuring proper drying of quality product.
- Troubleshoot complex problems within the machine center.
- Make critical decisions regarding burner operations and effective drying processes.
- Perform all planned maintenance and correct issues with precision and accuracy at the machine center.
- Work additional days or stay late on maintenance days when needed with short notice to perform tasks at the machine center.
- Transport, store, and feed in‑process lumber with a multi‑ton forklift (Taylor).
- Ensure work area is neat and organized.
- Operate a forklift 100% outside in a climate‑controlled environment.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Minimum 6 months of experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, farming, warehouse, or military environment OR completion of training/schooling in a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 6 months of experience operating a forklift, backhoe, front‑end loader, or skid‑steer.
- Experience reading and comprehending written instructions as required to complete assigned tasks.
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating a dry kiln, either burner or boiler.
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating a multi‑ton forklift or other related heavy equipment.
- Experience with rigging equipment and the ability to identify load weight to select appropriate rigging equipment.
