Summary
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Utility Operator is responsible for working in various departments and jobs in the plant in order to cover for employees who are on vacation or absent.
Position Responsibilities- Follow all Olam Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Preventive Controls Rules, and Occupational Safety Rules.
- Engage in extensive climbing and lifting.
- Complete various assigned jobs daily, including communicating with colleagues about equipment operation, changes in flow rates, processing capabilities, bin readings, safety and maintenance issues, paperwork, sanitation, maintenance, safety assignments and food safety requirements.
- Clean grounds, building and roof to remove peanut debris.
- Empty outdoor trash cans.
- Work in various areas of the plant to cover for vacations and absences.
- Assist maintenance as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experience.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, bend, and stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary).
