2nd Shift Supervisor​/Machinist

Atlanta Gear Works is located in Dawsonville, GA. We are a contract precision maintenance jobshop that services and repairs both large and small process critical gearboxes for a variety of industries.

We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist with supervisory experience to lead the 2nd shift team. This is a working supervisory role. Ideal candidate must have at least 4 years of prior machining and supervisory experience, be proficient in programming and able to operate both manual and CNC lathes and mills, and be able to read mechanical drawings. The schedule will consist of four 10‑hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. If you meet all requirements, please apply!

• Machine parts from mechanical drawings.
• Setup, program (machine and CAM), tool setup and operations on CNC equipment.
• Operate both manual and CNC lathes and mills.
• Use micrometers and other measuring instruments and record readings.
• Perform simple math calculations.

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical school is a plus.
• Minimum of four years experience in this field.
• Proficient with high‑precision measuring instruments such as verniers, micrometers OD & , depth gauge, etc. to a thousandth of an inch.

Ability to lift small, medium and large objects up to 50 lbs regularly. Stamina to work 40+ hours each week.

• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
